Boothe Memorial Park in Stratford will hold its annual Opening Day ceremonies on Sunday, May 15, and will host a car show presented by the Connecticut Seaport Car Club and the Eastern Packard Club Inc.
Last year the dual event presented opportunities for visitors to see all 20 buildings at Boothe Park and more than 150 antique automobiles.

The park festivities will officially begin at 1 p.m. but the cars are expected to begin arriving around 9 a.m.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Boothe Park’s attractions include the original homestead, the technocratic cathedral, the windmill, icehouse, outhouse, and the chapel.
Sheep shearing, spinning and weaving, turn-of-the century machines and carriage displays are also part of opening day.
Visitors may also tour the elaborate model train building, the working blacksmith shop, the observatory, the amateur radio clubhouse and equipment, and the genealogy library with ongoing demonstrations.
The Stratford Community Band will play throughout the afternoon, a balloon artist will entertain children, and an art show is planned by local young artists.
Most of the hands-on exhibits will be staffed by tour guides.
The park is open, free of charge, until 4 p.m.
