Robert (Bob) Rescsanski, age 78, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Elzbieta (Liz) Butkiewicz Rescsanski, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Born and raised in Bridgeport, son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Betty) Lizak Rescsanski, Bob had been a Fairfield Town resident for most of his life. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, Radioman Third Class. He had worked for the United Technologies Co., the Ruger Corp. and for the US Postal Service for many years until his retirement. Mr. Rescsanski was a member of the Port V N.A.N.V and the Southport Antique Car Club. Bob enjoyed hobby trains and antique automobiles, he drove his "Hot Rod" in many of the Fairfield Memorial Day Parades. He loved the great outdoors; Bob was a licensed pilot; he liked his motorcycle rides and fishing, clamming and cruising about Long Island Sound in his classic boat. In addition to his wife Liz, Bob is survived by his siblings Stephen Rescsanski of Trumbull, Carole Christie and her husband Robert of Jensen Beach, FL and Elizabeth (B.J.) Bonaffini and her husband Anthony. He leaves behind his children William and Edward Rescsanski and Edith Sterns, a stepson Matthew Butkiewicz, several nieces and nephews and his little "Best Friend" Kamma.
